What to wear for casual ice skating?

I am going with my friends to ice skate soon. What to wear?1st time ice skating. What should i wear?

What to wear for casual ice skating?
hey, firstly don't wear jeans. if you fall over and get wet, denim gets heavy and doesn't dry fast. wear trackies. and a shirt and a jumper and a jacket on top which is not long. don't wear a scarf because if it dangles down and gets caught up in yours or someone Else's skates it could cause an accident, most rinks don't allow scarfs etc to be worn anyway. also wear gloves to keep you hands warm but also to protect your fingers if you fall over and someone skates over you hands. like i mentioned before wear layers because although you think you may get cold ice skating you can get quite hot because it is exercise. wear thick socks as rental boots are not all that comfy. lastly enjoy yourself :)
Reply:For starters, stay away from jeans. They get wet easily and they don't let you move around. Wear long stretch pants or pants that are comfortable and easy to move around in. Wear a comfortable t-shirt and a sweatshirt.

Scarves and other accessories that dangle can bother you too. You might want gloves though if you think you're going to fall a lot
Reply:If your going skating indoors just wear a hoodie or heavier swaetshirt, and sweatpants. Also wear gloves.
Reply:Why do you care what color you wear? It's a sport, not a fashion show. Just don't wear jeans; they get wet if you fall (you probably will!) Wear sweat pants or something like that. Also bring a blanket so that when you aren't skating you won't freeze. You may want to wear a short-sleeved shirt so when and if you get hot while skating you can take your sweatshirt off.

Have fun!!!
Reply:you should wear like a pink shirt, and black pants.never wear jeans because you can't bend or stretch or move around as much as you can in like well, something other than jeans.black is always a good color to wear to ice skating, but a little color will never hurt.
Reply:u should wear something comfortable a.k.a DON'T WEAR JEANS!!! they're not good for skating and they get cold when u fall. u can wear knee pads if u want. don't wear a helmet...u'd just look retarded. wear layers so if u get hot just take a layer off. besides this...wear w/e u want. it doesn't matter!!

good luck!

xoxo
Reply:T-shirt under sweatshirt is a good idea, but a long-sleeved T-shirt is better than short sleeved, because it still protects your arms in case you fall.

stretch or warmup pants don't get as wet and sticky as jeans do, but make sure they're sturdy so they won't tear.

you should definitely wear gloves. I like the thin, knitted kind because they protect your hands, but they're not as stiff and heavy and likely to make your hands sweat as thick winter gloves or mittens.

if you're going to be wearing rental skates, you should wear thick socks that come about halfway to your knee, because most rental skates don't have much padding. thin socks or ankle socks are not a good idea.

you probably don't need a helmet, but you might want to wear knee pads under your pants because knees tend to get hurt more if you fall.

have fun!
Reply:jeans and a fleece jacket...i honestly don't find jeans hard to skate in at all...unless they are like super tight...don't do that. Or, you could wear sweatpants...either works...just not super tight jeans.
Reply:It depends on where you're going skating. If it's outdoors, you'll have to dress for the weather. Indoors, you can dress for cool weather. Thin socks, pants with a bit of stretch to them, a shirt you like, and a hoodie or equivalent. I also like to skate with gloves on. Keeps my hands warm, and also acts as a cushion in case of falls.

Otherwise, you can wear what you like.
Reply:jeans, t-shirt, and a hoodie or sweatshirt. don't forget a hat/gloves cause it's rather chilly :)
Reply:knee pads
Reply:It is best to wear loose, but not too loose shirts. Make sure they aren't to light, or when u fall, water stains will get on them. For pants, wear comfortable long cotton pants that are reasonable and let you stretch without hurting the elasticity of the pants. People tend to wear darker colors cause it helps keep you warm. also wear earmuffs to keep your ears warm, and mittens. overall, you'll be great. just have fun, and nobody will notice.
Reply:warm pants, (not jeans) and a sweater. make sure to wear gloves. and socks
Reply:You should wear some long pants and a long sleeve tee shirt. Jeans aren't the best thing to wear because when you fall they get wet and cold. Make sure to dress so that you can move, but stay warm. If I were to go skating with some friends I would just wear some long knit exercise pants. Sometimes I wear that for practice and it works out well. Bring a coat or jacket and some gloves. If you would like to you could wear a helmet or knee pads, but I don't think you really need them unless you are a toddler or have overprotective parents! Good luck.
Reply:Depending if the arena you're skating at is warmer or really cold your attire will differ.

If you are skating at a warm indoor rink like at a mall or something definitely wear sweat pants or something like that, just not jeans : ). A t-shirt would be OK but if you think you're going to fall a lot put a sweater over it or wear long sleeved shirt.

For a cold arena wear loose fitting pants and lots of layers!

When I go public skating just for fun I wear my nylons or thin socks, sweat pants, a t-shirt and a sweater over that.

It might be a good idea to wear a helmet or some knee pads if you're scared you may hurt yourself if you fall but they aren't entirely necessary unless the rink your skating at is very strict about having them.

oh yeah don't forget to wear mitts!

And a hat if you want

It would be a good idea to have your hair pulled back just so it doesn't get into your face while your skating.
Reply:Anthing but jeans! I'd go with just some stretchy pants, and a t-shirt is good, because after you've been skating around for a while you'll get warm, but you should bring a hoodie too, because you'll be cold when you first get out there.
Reply:You should wear anything but jeans. because they are had to skate in. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!
Reply:Try some plain stretch pants, NOT JEANS! And bundle up, wear 2 jackets, and make sure you have warm socks to wear on your feet. Bring gloves and a hat, you dont want to risk getting hurt so maybe if you want wear a helmet. This is coming from a figure skater.....trust me I know what I am taking about, even though I wear skating dresses I do get really cold!
