Does michelle kwan still ice skate? and advice on getting skating lessons.?
Michelle Kwan attends the University of Denver (Colorado). She went through hip surgery last August . . . and is still working as an American Public Diplomacy Envoy as she recovers.

According to this article from earlier this month, http://www.gazette.com/sports/kwan_25513... she has been back on the ice in the past couple months while balancing school.

You can find the lasted news about Michelle Kwan at this website. You can see the date when it was updated (so you know it's not an old, sitting website) and click onto it so you don't have to sift through all the info (then go to Seen and Heard)

**EDITED - oops - I forgot about the lesson part!

LESSONS:

Group lessons would be best to begin with go (cheapest and you get to be with others around your age who are starting off as you are!). Your local rink should have flyers about the classes or you can go to their skating office and ask them about it. Many rinks have websites now with info about "skating school" . . . or there may be a taped message about it if you call the rink. If you decide you love the sport and want to continue after going through the structured group program, you may want to get a private coach.

Hope that helps!
Reply:well, she stopped after she injured herself real bad! but i just don't know where she is now.
Reply:It sounds like from what information I've been able to get that she is slowly starting to skate again and attending school, but no real competitive skating yet (if she will return to competition).

Group lessons are a good way to begin skating, and they are much less expensive than private lessons.
Reply:From what little I was able to dig up it sound like she is skating now just moving slowly into the high level moves. It wasn't very conclusive.

What kind of lesson are you looking for? Lessons in general are great no matter your age or conditioning level. Simple head down to the local ice rink and ask about classes.

If you are looking for private lessons you are probably already at a rink and then going into their office and ask how private lesson are conducted at that rink... or ask around of the people that you know are already taking lesson. Word of mouth is great for getting info on something like this.

Enjoy! Skating can be a reward life long pursuit!
