Question for you hockey folks from the ice skating section?

Hi! Most of us in the ice skating section are figure skaters . . . but occasionally we get some hockey skaters who have technical questions - skating/equipment/etc. Sometimes we can answer, sometimes we can't. Should we redirect them to this hockey section? I noticed a lot of your questions here are more about the spectating end of hockey . . . but just wanted to know if you guys also actually skate/play hockey too? Thanks!!

A good number of us skate and play too, redirecting them here is a good idea. We're always happy to give advice to people who are learning.

Thanks for the heads up there... I might go and check out that forum for myself too.
Reply:I play hockey and would love to share my experiences and skills with others. Please feel free to questions.... I will try to help if I can.
Reply:As many of the others have said, we would be happy to help out. I've played for over 20 years and am always willing to do what I can to help out my fellow fans and players where I can.
Reply:Certainly.

Send them here, we'd be glad to help them.
Reply:Many, if not most of the people here, play as well as watch the sport. I happen not to be one of them; I can't even ice skate, but lots of people here would be able to help if you send questions about skates, sticks, equipment, moves, etc. their way.
Reply:Yea I think you should send them here since most people here know a lot about hockey and have played/still play it. I'm sure most people here would be able to help them.
Reply:Definitely send them. I have played for 12 years now, and my dad is a master level coach. I have been around the game forever, and I would like to think that I can help with just about any problem somebody has about hockey or skating. I know alot of people in the hockey section have played for a long time too, so send them over here to this section if you can't help them.
Reply:Sure, hockey players are a nicer, classier breed than many other sports athletes. Almost always you will find people willing to listen, answer questions, and help people with our sport, on and off the ice, or roller court. Ask away, I'm sure we will all say!
Reply:Yeah, give them flak while you're at it. We certainly give tons of flak for people who posts non-hockey stuff here so it's only fair. lol
