Mastering the 3 turn in ice skating?

I have been ice skating for about 4 months and am having trouble with my 3 turn. I can just about get the turn but cant keep my free foot off the ice. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mastering the 3 turn in ice skating?
push into your three turn and bring the foot which is off the ice just behind the skating foot at an angle almost like you are creating a T with you ice skates this is because if it is stretched out if can throw you off balance. turn the shoulders in the direction you are turning before you turn your foot, this way they weight shifts and makes it easier to turn, when you have turned stretch the free foot out behind you again. good luck with this im sure youll get it

Reply:Try keeping your foot tight up against your shin of your other leg, with a lot of strength.
Reply:try moving your head towards the turn and keep your free foot beside your leg and dont swing it too much. make sure you bend your knees
Reply:I would like to be able to ice skate...but I'm not able!
Reply:Try just bending your foot slitly and oulling it up to your ankle. It will really help, and it can also help to keep your body stiffer.
Reply:You should try to hold your foot up higher, and just think about not putting your foot down. I had the same problem, it is just a bad habit that you got your slef into.
Reply:Try and turn your head and arms backwards before you start to turn your foot, it makes it easier and just practice
Reply:Keep your arms steady and lift your free leg a little more!
