Is 27 too old to ice skate?
Are you kidding No way! you are never too old to learn to figure skate as long as you have the passion, and the desire, you can do anything, especially skating. It is a very addictive sport. I should know. I started to skate as an adult, I practically live at my rink.

Have fun; and don't let anyone tell you that you are too old; they're probably jealous
Reply:I'm 38 and my wife's 35 and we started ice skating lessons two months ago.

My mother in law who has skated for 30 years has now started again as well.

So the answers No you're not too old to start skating.
Reply:no not at all. skating is about how much effort and heart you give into it, it has nothing to do with age. so don't worry. there will be other people your age if you start an adult class. i have seen people who are 40 learning how to skate. since your 27 you should be able to pick up on things quickly. good luck.
Reply:You're never too old!!!! I'm 29 and still skating. That's great that you want to learn! We need more adult skaters in the skating world. It's also more fun to compete as an adult because there is less catty-ness than what you find with the kids. Go for it! You'll love it...it's addicting. :)
Reply:no
Reply:No, your not too old. Unfortunately, age does matter, so don't expect your self to be able to do all the same things as the younger ice skaters, but you can still have fun and become fairly advanced.
Reply:of course not everybody is different!
Reply:Ofcourse not!

You're hardly never too old to learn new things.

Ice skating a great and liberating experiance (so I've been told).

Go ahead and go for it. Who knows, you might have a knack for it and go pro. Lol ;)
Reply:I started skating in my mid 20's . . . and have gone well beyond my wildest dreams!!! I learned to spin and jump (got to doubles!), competed/performed numerous times, went to Adult Nationals, got to Adult Gold level (USFSA) . . . ohhhhh and now they have international competitions for adults which I have yet to do . . . one day I'll go back to training again!!

Here are some links for adult skating if you have a chance to read them. It's never too late to learn to skate!!!
