Does anyone know how to go Ice skating on the sims 2 seasons?

I've tried clicking on the pond to go ice skating but it doesn't do anything. If anyone knows what you're suppose to do to go ice skating please tell me.

You can buy an ice skating rink and also a roller skating rink in the buy mode, they each come in small and large sizes. Dont quote me on this because i cant completly remember but i THINK they may be under the hobbies section like where the chess table and painting easle are and stuff. Anyway, you can buy that and thats how they can ice skate. Supposibly the ponds can freeze over to go ice skating but i havent had that happen yet. Good luck!
