Am i too old to start ice skating?
no you have time. its soo much fun you will love it. 17 is a perfect age :D
Reply:definately not..

when i take my little girl to training we have a couple in their late 60s who started learning about a 1 1/2 years ago. i used to love watching them practice, they wore protective gear, helmets pads etc, last time i saw them they had it all together %26amp; were doing a really lovely waltz type dance , was great to see.. go for it..
Reply:Your never to old to start skating! I know somebody who started skating at 32, and she's pretty good now. You can even be doing doubles by 22 or 23 if u really love it and stick to it. But you'd be to old to go to the Olympics or Nationals if you start landing triples. Because you would be like 26 by then. Sorry :(
Reply:You can certainly begin to skate at any age, there are people in their 60's-80's that are competing in skating. You can certainly learn to skate and become good at it!
Reply:u r too young to be able to go pro and stuff...but hey...try it!! Maybe if you work really hard, you can be good! u r never too old to skate!!

Good luck!!

:)
Reply:17 is definitely not to old. Besides, skating is a fun sport and it doesn't matter if you are amazing or not. Just make sure that you are skating for you, and not for someone else and you will do great.
Reply:no hello look at dancing on ice most of the celebs sk8 4 1st tym an r gr8 u go ahead an do it good luck
Reply:You're never too old. I teach a class of group lessons that includes skaters your age and much older. They're just starting out and doing great....they love it and are coming back for the next set of lessons! You're never too old to learn something new, plus skating can be a lot of fun and you can meet lots of new people.

Check with your local rink and see if they offer group lessons or basic skills lessons. These are usually cheaper and easier to start out with than private lessons. Going through the group lessons can help you also decide if there is a specific area of skating you would like to go into as you learn the beginning basics for all ice sports and as you get into the higher levels, you start jumps, spins and even get a taste of ice dancing.

Even at 17, you can still do shows, competitions and test, if figure skating is the way you want to go. Also, within the past few years, adult skating (skaters 21 and older) has gained popularity with adults having their own competitions, shows, test track and nationals!

Good luck! I hope you decide to start! :)
Reply:its deffinetly not too late. If you work really hard you'll eventually be really good,

have fun and good luck
