Ice skating?

how many calories per minute do you burn from ice skating?

Ice skating?
Ice skating: 11 per minute

(but really it depends on WHAT you're doing on the ice)

250-810 per hour for recreational skating

Up to 450-1,080 per hour for competitive skating

(of course, divide those figures by 60 to gte per minutes, but again, it depends on what you're doing on the ice)

Reply:If you just skate around in circles and do not do anytricks you burn 660 and thenif you are doing tricks it is about 1300 calories burnt so ask you can see you can that doing tricks is way better than just skating around
Reply:IDK, why do you care!
Reply:It depends on how much you weight and what you are doing while skating. These websites may be helpful in getting your average while skating. http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/calories...

Reply:It depends on how much YOU weigh and how vigorously you skate.

If you weigh 100 pounds and skate slowly, you'll burn about 4-5 calories per minute (CPM); speed it up a bit and you can burn 7-8 CPM. Competitive figure skaters use 11-12 CPM.

Competitive figure skaters will perform programs with a variety of movements that float between gliding (almost no calories) and spinning/jumping (lots of calories.)

You'd need to average the different exertions done during the whole time on the ice to get a better feel for exactly how many calories are being used at any one time.
