Ice Skating levels, passing, etc...?

Hi! Around 4 years ago, i quit ice skating. But now, I wanna learn again. But, since i quit, do i have to restart all of the levels (Alpha, Beta, etc..)? or can I just keep continuing on what i did? And,, how long does it take to pass each level? 1 month? 2 months? and, is it possible to skip a level?

Ice Skating levels, passing, etc...?
well the preliminary skater above me, im sorry to say is incorrect. You can pick up right where you left off but you definitely cannot skip levels, in USFSA or in ISI. ive skated in both. although ISI your coach tests you instead of a group of judges, your coach still needs to test you and give you the badges for each level, so there is no skipping. skating is cumulitive, meaning things you have learned in the past, you will need to know for future moves so it is important to know how and be good at things you have already tested in. also it is important to be a strong competitor (not as much in ISI) being able to do the moves expected of you when competing in that level.

Your coach can help you out in determining where you at and if you are ready to test for the next level.
Reply:Okay- I am a preliminary skater- so trust me. If you quit skating for a period of time, you can rejoin and pick up right where you left of IF you remember all the moves you have previously done. And, it is possible to skip levels. All you have to do for that is to know all the moves you must complete in that level. Your coach will determine that. Good luck!
