Ice Skating Date?

Going on an ice skating date. Not sure what to wear? was thinking yoga pants and a cute top, but then what shoes should i wear with it?(for before iceskating and after) i think it would look a bit silly with sneakers? but then it'd look silly with high heels also?!

Ice Skating Date?
If I was going on an ice skating date I wouldn't wear yoga pants. I think they're a bit too formal. I'm a figure skater and unless I plan on practicing while I'm there I wear a pair of jeans with a bit of stretch to them. If you fall alot then I can understand not wanting to wear an item of clothing that will get wet and stay wet, but for a date you want to look cute. I think jeans and a cute top are more wearable if you decide to go somewhere after. To the rink I would wear a cute sweater if you don't want to wear a bulky sweatshirt. As for shoes, unless the guy is very metro he probably won't notice, so wear whatever is cute and comfortable.

Addressing the day date thing... I don't think that's true. I've been on dates during the day, they just aren't as formal. I think the real determiner is if the guy pays for you. The only place I've ever heard of a date during the day being not a real date is from the movie "Just Friends".
Reply:Aww... I'm sorry. :-( Who wants a guy who doesn't take the innitiative to be a gentleman anyway? Report It

Reply:Well what's wrong with jeans? It's cold in the ice rink (or outside, depending on where you're going). Yoga pants aren't practical. Jeans would make sense and you can still look cute.
Reply:whatever you wear should be comfortable and not get too wet if you fall. dress in layers, but plan it so you still look nice without the sweater/sweatshirt/jacket/whatever you wear on top. (in case you get too warm).

a casual look is good. you don't want to overdress.

a thin pair of knitted gloves might also be a good idea in case your hands get cold.

one EXTREMELY IMPORTANT thing: if you are renting skates, do not wear ankle socks. wear longer socks that will give your feet and especially your ankles some padding. (trust me-- my friend and I both wore quarter socks with rental skates once. never again!)

(note: it can too be a date in the daytime. it just depends whether you and the guy are thinking of it as a date or not.)

good luck and happy skating!
Reply:Yoga pants, and top along with a jacket, gloves, and thin socks are a good idea. Jeans aren't good to wear on the ice because when you fall they get wet and cold, and jeans don't stretch well. I would probably just wear some sneakers, it shouldn't be a big deal. Good luck!
Reply:You've got the right idea. Jeans aren't going to allow you to be flexible and if they get wet from falling, they don't dry easily. If you're skating at an indoor rink, they're usually kept around 50-degrees. If you're worried about what to wear for other parts of the date, maybe just bring some jeans along and change into them after skating. Don't forget gloves or mittens!
Reply:If i were you i would wear comfy ugg-style boots

there great for your feet (when there aching!)
Reply:well if its in the day then its only as friends, if your not already dating him.
