Ice skating??

How much would an ice skating lesson cost?

Ice skating??
The rink in Melbourne that I can find is Olympic Ice Skating Center.

If you're a beginner, you'll start with Aussie Skate Programme. I would think that this programme is better than private lessons at such an early stage.

http://www.icerink.com.au/begginers.htm

"The program is conducted in 2 age groups, 5-8 and 9-12 years, and has been specifically designed to enable everyone to progress at their own pace, with the opportunity to move into specialty skating if they wish. The cost is $50.00 for a 5 week click card ($10.00 per lesson), with the first lesson FREE. Tuition must be paid in full prior to the second lesson. No booking is required."

That sure sounds worth it. I'm sure they can cater to older skaters too.

The web didn't say much about private lessons, but that there are private coaches and that students can utilise that figure skating sessions that the rink offers. I would say that the sessions will cost separately.

I think that more information will be available on the web and it's better for you to go check it out. If that's the only rink in your area, I guess you'll have to settle for that, right?

Skating can be expensive as you progress, but determination will pull you through any sport. =)
Reply:depends on...

- the level of the skater

- the club

- the coach

- the length of the lesson
Reply:Its different where you live then where some one else lives.

you should just ask around. ( =
Reply:The costs do vary depending on where you live, and whether you do private or group lessons. Private lesson rates are set by the coach depending on their experience, and training level. Private lessons typically cost about $10-$15 per 15 minute lesson, plus ice time which is usually $5-$10 per hour session. Group lessons usually are $30-$40 for a three week session which you skate twice a week for 25-30 minutes.
Reply:A private lesson is usually a dollar a minute. If you are just starting out, I would take group lessons just to get the feel for it. After you are doing maybe a 2 foot spin, I would consider getting a coach. Group lessons cost about 300 dollars for 12 weeks. It all depends on where you live and your rink.
Reply:Okay, it all depends. Here are what I pay....

Skates-350

Blades-100

Ice Time-105 per week

1 coach-175 per month

2 coach-200 per month

3 coach-65 per month

4 coach-100 per month

Music-depends on long/short

Dresses/practice wear-100-300 per outfit(mostly 200)

Tests-15-50 depending on level

Competitions-depends on what competition

I skate 7 hours a week so it will vary with you.
Reply:depends where you live..
Reply:In my area, group classes go by the sessions that last 6-8 weeks. Each lesson comes to about $12-$15 dollars - which usually includes skate rentals (if not, just a couple bucks more . . . with a free public session for that lesson day and perhaps some more public session passes. Check with your rink - different rinks vary. It really is the least expensive way to learn how to skate . . . once you feel you need to move on, you can get a private coach at any time.

Private coach fees vary too. Generally, the higher the rank, the higher the fees. It also depends on how long your lesson would be (15-20-30+ minutes). Where I live, it can be anywhere between $25 to almost $50 (per lesson)!! And it's not just the coach you pay . . . you have to pay for your admission to the rink (whether it's a public session - $6-$8, or later on, a freestyle session $7-$10). If you will be using rental skates, that's another few bucks there.

Hope that helps!
Reply:well where i live private lessons are around 10 pounds per 15 minutes not including rink rental usually.group lessons are cheaper like 60 a term all together.
