If you're looking to skate in Manhattan, the Lasker Rink in Central Park and Sky Rink at Chelsea Piers are indoor rinks. Central Park also has the Kate Wollman rink, Rockefeller Center's little rink is open (expensive; long lines between Thanksgiving and New Year's) until March. Bryant Park on 42nd street and 6th avenue has free skating until Feb. (Skate rental charges apply)
