why do you love ice skating?! why ice skating is your passion?!

Why do you love ice skating?!?
I love ice skating because it gives me the feeling of being free, expressing myself how I would like to, competition against others, and challenging myself to do better, and keep practicing.
Reply:I LOVE ICE SKATING!!!!!!!! IT IS MY FAVORITE AND ONLY FAVORITE SPORT!!!! some other sports i like but there not my favorite cuz ice skating is my only fav.!!! i DO like swimming a lot though. but thats it! i just like it a lot, but its not my fav cuz ice skatings my fav!! i love ice skating cuz one: i like that its not a very common sort and that me and my bf are the only ones i know (THAT I KNOW) that do it. two: i'm the only one in my school that loves it and adores the sport like crazy! three: cuz its an icy sport, and thats who i am, an icy, sporty, athletic gal! i'm not all girly and pirky that loves pink and stuff, i love blue, silver, and white (icy/snowy/cool colors!) four: the ice skates are gorgeous!!! they are the only pretty sports equipment i'v ever seen!! (but i only like the white ice skates with the dark brown heel, thats what i have, reidells! cuz the black heels look all plastic and fake! the white boots with the dark brown heels look real and professional and they look olympic!!! five: it takes a lot of work and training and its athletic, and even though i don't get to compete, i still get to learn everything in skating and show all my family and friends! six: cuz both me and my bf do it so we have a lot in common! (like literaly, a lot!! we have 59 things in common!!!! i'm dead serious, i counted!!) seven: and lastly cuz it makes me feel unique that not a lot of people i know do it and feel the same about it than me, but i just love ice skating!!!

Reply:Hmm, well I love the feeling of being on the ice, it's amazing. I wouldn't say that singles skating is my passion, I just love it. Synchro is definitely my one and only passion. I love the competiveness (but also good sportsmanship), the teamwork, just how fun it is, and the friends that I make. It's what I'm doing with my life.

I'm constantly thinking about it, wanting to be one the ice. i love the freedom i have, being able to do things on that slippery surface that are nothing like things on earth.. the time just flies by and after 2 hours i feel like I've been skating for 30 minutes!





I'm so happy that i can now do things i thought i would never be able to achieve...my friends have all had to bear with me explaining what i learnt at the most recent lesson, demonstrating jumps and spirals :) thank goodness they're so tolerant! i love u guys!





i think I'm not the most graceful person lol, but when skating i sometimes get the odd complement about the way i skate, and my spirals..so it makes me feel very confident (even thought I've only been skating for about 8 months)..





i love the feeling of leaving the ice for seconds that feels like forever when i jump, and the buzz i get from learning something new..





i love knowing that i can do some things that not everyone can. it makes me feel a bit unique, like my own person.. the reason i started skating was so i could go skating with my friends, and now some of them admire what i can do :) even though I'm forever talking about all things icy! and now i can skate with my friends with confidence i didn't have last year.





so yea... that's all i can describe in writing really..

Reply:because it's a sport. It's exciting. I only like competitive skating, I hate skating shows though. If there is no pressure on skaters, ice skating is boring. During the Olympics, world championships... its at its best.

I have been skating ever since i was 3 years old, and now i am 12. I just love being on the ice!!! I skate every day twice a day!!!! It is my absoulute passion. I would NEVER do anything else. I will probably be competing untill im 50!!!!!!

Reply:I actually didn't "discover" ice skating til later on in life. When I did, it brought back fond memories of roller skating as a kid and my love for dance . . . with ice skating I could mesh both worlds together! I had opportunities to compete and perform . . . where else would I ever get the stage (ice) all to myself, doing something I love, with a watching audience?! Hee hee!! I loved learning to skate different moves - all for the sake of choreography - so I could tell a story to the audience and hopefully they would enjoy it too. Oh - and it's a great way to stay in shape without feeling like you're exercising . . . too much fun - wink!!
