Arch pain after ice skating?

I went ice skating for the first time in years yesterday. Felt like my right skate was loose and i think Im paying for it now. Couldnt sleep at all last night as the arch on my right foot throbbed with pain. The weird thing is i can walk perfectly fine with no limp and i barely feel any pain. But as soon as i lay down and take the weight off of it, the pain comes back. Any idea whats wrong or suggestions i can do?

Arch pain after ice skating?
One of the tendons that make up your arch is the Plantar Fascia. It connects to you heel and across your arch and attaches to the balls of your feet. Sounds like you may have irritated the plantar fascia. Being the first episode I doubt its Plantar Fascitis. Take an anti-inflammatory such as Motrin or Alleve. Also use some lotion and massage the bottom of your arch. Rubbing from a heel to toe motion. This will stretch and relax the fascia. If the pain does not improve in a day. Please see your Personal MD.
Reply:You might have flat feet. See a podiatrist if this continues, you might need custom shoe inserts.
