Ice skating in NYC?

I am going to visit new york next weekend and want to go ice skating, im debating between central park and rockefellar center, any suggestions? Also, i checked the weather forecast and it says rain/snow on Saturday, do you think that is very accurate? If so, how much snow will there be?

Don't go to Rockefeller Center. Just.....don't. It's overrated, it's tiny, it's ridiculously expensive, it's more of a hassle than an enjoyable experience. And you wait forever for the "privilege" to be a part of it. Just....don't. They rope in enough unsuspecting tourists, don't follow the sheep.

Central Park's Wollman Rink is a very large, very nice rink, probably my favorite in the city. It's in a beautiful setting, it's much larger, and it's not the firetrap that Rockefeller Center's rink is. As far as my favorites, Bryant Park is a close second when it's open, but it's closed these days.

Can't speculate on a rain/snow forecast a week ahead of time, they often get it wrong the DAY beforehand. Just watch it as the week goes by and see what develops.

EDIT: Sorry to say, the Bryant Park rink is closed for the year. It'll be back next winter. If it were open, I would recommend it.
Reply:We've gotten no snow this year, despite forecasts. Rain, yes, but I think snow is unlikely.

Be prepared to wait on long lines at both Rockefeller Center and Central Park. The Central Park ring is a little bigger, I think. For less crowds, you might try the Wollman Rink in Prospect Park in Brooklyn.
Reply:Go to Bryant Park at 40St between 5th and 6th Ave. The rink is free. just pay for skate rental.
Reply:I would recommend Wollman Rink in Central Park, its bigger and less crowed than the Rockefeller Center Rink. And for the weather, yes the weather is accureate. But my advice, always check the weather report before traveling because it always changes.

Good luck and have fun
Reply:Lasker Rink is also a nice choice if you're looking for a more intimate setting.
