I find it hard to believe that you LIVE in Greensboro and dont know about the Ice Rink...maybe you just moved there or something...Anyway, that is the address and website for the Ice House in Greensboro. I also included the page for the Coaches and prices for private lessons. If you want to get good and actually *learn* something, i suggest that you skip the group lessons and jump into private lessons with a coach. Group lessons are good if you want an introduction to figure skating and just want to do it on the weekends with your friends but your not going to be able to compete with group lessons and you really wont have anyone to help you with the little things that really matter.

I live in raleigh and skate at the Factory Ice House with a private coach. I started with an 8-week group class, and blew right through it. There was no challenges, no direction, nothing. As soon as i started with my coach, everything was different. One on one training really is the best way to go, whether you just want to skate as a hobby or make a career out of it.

But, i'll tell you right now, figure skating is no walk in the park. It takes hours of work and training to be sucessful. Its hard to imagine that it takes so many body parts in the right positions to do a simple two foot spin. You will get very impatient and frustrated. But, theres nothing like the feeling you get when you've been working so hard and fighting with your coach for hours a day after you FINALLY get what you've been working on. Figure skating is so rewarding and fun. But thats the key-you have to remain focused on your goals and have fun. Dont give up just because you cant do a back-scratch spin the first two-thousand times....just work on it...

good luck...e-mail me sometime and let me know how its going if you want. agray1021@yahoo.com
Reply:i don't know the name of it, but look up that short track racer Joey cheek. he's from GSO and he started there. got to have good coaches
Reply:I would look in the yellow pages simple enough.
Reply:Well...you could look up rinks on the internet, and I think it's great that you've decided to ice skate!!!
